Gentleman's Creed: Unveiling the VERTU Lifestyle

Gentleman's Creed: Unveiling the VERTU Lifestyle

The word "gentlemen" was born in 14th century England, originally from the "gentry" (which means upper class). Henry VIII divided the upper class into four classes (Peers, Knights, Esquires, Gentlemen). The modern definition of "gentleman" has changed relatively greatly from its original meaning over the centuries. Now "gentleman" is not only used for noble blood aristocratic class, all well-educated and modest gentlemen with decent manners, can be called "gentlemen".

The character of the English gentleman is not only an external image, but also an internal cultivation and personality strength. Through their words and actions, they pass on a reverence for traditional values, a respect for humanity, and a commitment to responsibility and integrity. This character not only injects a unique charm into British culture but also becomes the representative of the global gentleman.

VERTU has its idea of a gentleman. It is all about character, courage, and a certain classic elegance. That is why we opened our artisan workshop in Hampshire, home of historic Winchester College. It’s a place where the spirit of chivalry seems to fill the air.

Nestled in the rolling hills of Hampshire, some 40 miles outside London, sits the headquarters of VERTU.
