Arthur Charles Clarke is an English science fiction writer and scientist, widely regarded as one of the most important figures in modern science fiction. He was born in England in 1917 and has made many prominent contributions to the fields of science, science fiction, and science popularization.
One of his most famous works is 2001: A Space Odyssey, which starts with a black monolith. The mysterious monolith from extraterrestrials brings advanced extraterrestrial intelligence, and life on Earth begins to walk upright and begin to have their minds. His research and thinking about space and astronautics made him an authority figure, and some of his scientific predictions were later validated.
